Curriculum Intent
At. St. Wilfrid’s, we teach the EYFS Framework and National Curriculum. Our purposefully designed curriculum ensures all pupils, especially our vulnerable learners, receive a broad, balanced and progressive curriculum that reflects the unique characteristics of our school context and is rich in knowledge, experiences and literacy opportunities. Our well-planned curriculum ensures pupils develop an understanding of both substantive and disciplinary knowledge allowing them to develop into keen critical thinkers. Underpinned by high quality and excellent teaching, learning is memorable and sustained over time.

Curriculum Aims
The aim of our curriculum is to:
- Encompass the Early Years Framework and National curriculum and go beyond to meet the vision, mission and values of our school.
- Develop pupils who have a strong sense of self, anchored by their faith, informed by their heritage, with strong awareness of their present; prepared for a future yet to be revealed.
- Provide pupils with the essential knowledge and skills that they need to be educated citizens and critical thinkers.
- Introduce pupils to the best that has been thought and said, and help engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.
